In terms of paragraph 3.4(b) of the JSE Limited Listings Requirements, issuers are required to publish
a trading statement as soon as they are satisfied that a reasonable degree of certainty exists that the
financial results for the period to be reported on will differ by at least 20% from those of the
prior comparative period.

Shareholders are hereby advised that for the year ended 31 December 2023 ("Current Reporting Period"),
Merafe is expecting to report:

 - basic earnings per share ("EPS") of between 64.5 cents and 75.7 cents, compared to EPS of 56.4
    cents per share for the prior comparative period, which is an improvement of between 14% to 34%;
