OVERVIEW - ARGENT INDUSTRIAL LIMITED

Argent Industrial Limited was born out of Scharrig Mining Limited who in turn created Scharrig Industrial Holdings (Pty) Ltd for the purpose of holding the Group's industrial investments and was listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange on 24 November 1994. The Company subsequently changed its name to Argent Industrial Limited on 27 September 1999 and at inception was largely focussed on supporting the mining operation through building tipper trucks and refurbishing engines. Following the name change in 1999, the Group quickly diversified into Steel trading and manufacturing through the acquisition of a number of businesses, including Phoenix Steel, Hendor Mining and Jetmaster in 2003.

Argent Industrial Limited is now largely a steel-based beneficiation group with a very diverse portfolio of businesses that include international Brands. The business portfolio consists of; Jetmaster, Xpanda, Excalibur, Castor and Ladder, Cedar Paint, Sentech Industries, Toolroom Services, Atomic Office Equipment, Phoenix Steel, Gammid Trading, Tricks Wrought Iron Services, Burbage UK, Megamix, Villiersdorp Quarries and New Joules North America. The Group's successes in North America and the UK has inspired it to look at additional opportunities internationally, both for export opportunities and for businesses located abroad. Locally, the Group has recently benefited from the rollout of infrastructure and Green Energy related activity, as well as its focus on security barrier related business that is seeing growing demand in the difficult economic times.

The group's character is innovation, speed, delivery and service. Argent has a bold approach to business and is always seeking new investments and investors. Our customers are the key to our success and so they enjoy our dedicated attention
