UPDATED TRADING STATEMENT FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 AUGUST 2020
In terms of paragraph 3.4(b) of the Johannesburg Stock Exchange’s Listing Requirements, a listed
company is required to publish a trading statement as soon as it is satisfied that a reasonable degree
of certainty exists that the financial results for the period to be reported upon next will differ, by at
least 20%, from those of the previous corresponding period.
Shareholders are advised that as a result of the disposal of Force Fuel Proprietary Limited and Force
Fuel Properties Proprietary Limited (“Fuel Business”), which business is currently under Business Rescue,
the results of the Fuel Business have been deconsolidated in accordance with IFRS5.
The continuing operations comprise the technology business through SAMES, the bulk logistics
business and the Healthcare business.
Shareholders are advised as follows:
- The basic earnings per share (“EPS”) for the year ended 31 August 2020 is expected to improve
by more than 100%, moving from a loss of (25.22) cents per share for the year ended 31 August
2019 to 3.00 cents per share for the year under review.
- The Headline Loss per share for the year ended 31 August 2020 will be between (6.31) cents per
share and (3.86) cents per share, compared to the headline loss per share of (7.89) cents per
share for the year ended 31 August 2019, being an increase between 28% and 48%.
- For continuing operations, the Company expects to reflect positive headline earnings per share.
The financial information contained herein has not been reviewed and reported on by the group’s
external auditors.
