Notification of an acquisition of a beneficial interest in Life Healthcare securities

In compliance with section 122(3)(b) of the Companies Act, 71 of 2008 ("the Companies Act"),
Regulation 121(2)(b) of the Companies Act Regulations 2011 and paragraph 3.83(b) of the JSE Limited
Listings Requirements, shareholders are advised that the Company has received notification from Old
Mutual Limited of an acquisition of Life Healthcare ordinary shares, such that Old Mutual Limited now
holds 5.00% of the Company’s total issued ordinary shares.

The Company confirms that, as required in terms of section 122(3)(a) of the Companies Act, it has filed
the required notices with the Takeover Regulation Panel and that, to the best of its knowledge and belief,
the information supplied by Old Mutual is complete and consistent.
