What is RSS?

Really Simple Syndication (RSS) is a format used to produce lists of articles, news other other items usually with headlines and a description. These are then used either by other web sites to display the content there, or by RSS aggregators programs that clients can install on their own PC. The advantage of an RSS aggregators is that many sources can all be pulled into one program for viewing, instead of having to go and check lots of web pages for updates all the time.

Both IE7 and Firefox have some built in capabilities for dealing with RSS, but generally RSS aggregators do a better job.
