Board Nomination and Appointment Policy

In line with paragraph 7.8 of the JSE Debt Listings Requirements, the group announces amendments to its
Board Nomination and Appointment Policy. The amendments to the policy were made to expand on the
assessment of the fitness and propriety of directors. The group can confirm that no instances of deviations from
the original policy were recorded prior to its revision.

Furthermore, the group wishes to voluntarily announce the availability of the Board Promotion of Gender and
Race Diversity Policy which will be made available online on the group’s website www.standardbank.com.
