Chief People Officer Avanthi Parboosing has been appointed as the Chief People Officer ("CPO") of Life Healthcare, reporting to the Group Chief Executive, Pete Wharton-Hood. Avanthi will relinquish her current role as Group Company Secretary with effect from 28 February 2021. A focus on critical elements of a progressive "people" function is integral to the Company’s strategy, and Avanthi brings extensive operational experience to the role, given her tenure as a seasoned executive over the past 15 years, across a range of listed entities and industries . The appointment establishes the role of the CPO as an integral part of the executive management committee, on which Avanthi will continue to serve. Avanthi will have matrix responsibility for Human Resources and assume executive responsibility for the additional portfolios of Communications & Marketing, Stakeholder Engagement, Diversity & Inclusion and Sustainability. Group Company Secretary In line with formal and pre-determined succession plans, Joshila Ranchhod has been appointed as Group Company Secretary. Joshila holds a BA (LLB) Degree from Rhodes University and is an admitted attorney of the High Court. She joined law firm, Bowman Gilfillan Inc where she completed her articles and went on to serve as Legal Advisor at senior management level across a range of industries. Prior to joining the Company in 2019, Joshila served as Group Manager: Governance and Ethics at Sun International Limited. During her tenure at Life Healthcare, Joshila has served as Corporate Services Manager and, most recently, as Head: Governance and Ethics. Joshila will join the executive management committee.
