GENERAL MEETING AND AVAILABILITY OF B-BBEE ANNUAL COMPLIANCE REPORT

No Change Statement and availability of integrated report

Further to the publication of AEEI’s reviewed provisional condensed consolidated annual financial
results for the year ended 31 August 2020 and final dividend declaration (“Provisional Results”) on
SENS on 25 November 2020, shareholders are advised that the Company’s 2020 integrated report,
together with the full audited consolidated financial statements, are available on its website:
http://aeei.co.za/integrated-report/

Additionally, these can be obtained from the Company’s registered office, from 25 January 2021. The
audited consolidated financial statements for the year ended 31 August 2020contains no
modifications from the Provisional Results.

Notice of Annual General Meeting

Notice is hereby given that the annual general meeting (“AGM”) of shareholders of AEEI will be held
via electronic communication at 14h00 on Thursday, 25 February 2021, to transact the business
stated in the notice of annual general meeting.

The board of directors of AEEI determined that, in terms of section 62(3)(a), as read with section 59
of the Companies Act, 71 of 2008, as amended, the record date for the purposes of determining which
shareholders of the Company are entitled to participate in and vote at the AGM is Friday, 19 February
2021. Accordingly, the last day to trade AEEI shares in order to be recorded in the register to be
entitled to vote at the AGM will be Tuesday, 16 February 2021.
Any shareholders or their proxies who wish to participate in the AGM via electronic communication
(“Participants”) should complete the enclosed Electronic Participation Form (“the Application”) and
should email same to the Company’s transfer secretaries, Link Market Services at
meetfax@linkmarketservices.co.za as soon as possible but by no later than 14:00 on Tuesday, 16
February 2021.

Upon receipt of a duly completed Application, the Company’s transfer secretaries will follow a
verification process to verify each Participant’s entitlement to participate and/or vote at the AGM. On
successful verification, such shareholder or their duly appointed proxy will receive on their nominated
email a Microsoft Teams meeting invitation, which will be required to access the AGM.
Proxy forms should be lodged with the transfer secretaries of the Company, Link Market Services
(Pty) Ltd, Rennie House, 13th Floor, 19 Ameshoff Street, Braamfontein, 2001, or posted to the
Transfer Secretaries at PO Box 4844, Johannesburg, 2000, South Africa, to be received by them
not later than 08h00 on Tuesday, 23 February 2021 provided that any form of proxy not delivered to
the transfer secretary by this time may be handed to the chairman of the AGM prior to the
commencement of the AGM, at any time before the appointed proxy exercises any shareholder
rights at the AGM.

Availability of B-BBEE Annual Compliance Report

In accordance with paragraph 16.21(g) and Appendix 1 to Section 11 of the JSE Limited Listings
Requirements, notice is hereby given that the Company’s annual compliance report in terms of
section 13G(2) of the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment Act No. 46 of 2013, has been
published and is available on the Company’s website at http://aeei.co.za/bee-certificate/
