Cautionary announcement

Shareholders are advised that the board of directors of Etion (“the Board”) has initiated an
investigation into various options available to Etion to unlock value for its shareholders.

The Board has, inter alia, entered into discussions to dispose of its various operating
subsidiaries/divisions (“Disposal Process”), which if successfully concluded, may have a
material effect on the price of Etion’s securities.

An Independent Board has been constituted to oversee the Disposal Process as required in
terms of the Companies Act, 2008 (Act 71 of 2008), as amended.

Accordingly, shareholders are advised to exercise caution when dealing in Etion’s shares
until a full announcement is made.
