EXTENSION OF FINANCIAL REPORTING PERIOD

Shareholders are referred to the market notice issued by the Financial Services Conduct Authority on
3 April 2020, in respect of the extension of financial reporting periods (the “Extension Periods”) and are
advised that the Company will be utilising the two-month Extension Periods afforded to issuers with year-
ends of 31 December 2019, 31 January 2020, 29 February 2020 and 31 March 2020.

Whilst every effort is being made to ensure business continuity, the controls and protocols that have been
implemented to ensure the health and safety of all staff is likely to have a pervasive impact on the
Company, particularly as it relates to our financial reporting timelines. Given the uncertainty as to the
duration and extent of the impact of COVID-19, the board of directors of Wescoal considers it prudent
and in the best interests of the Company to utilise the two-month Extension Periods.

Given that the Company’s financial year end is 31 March 2020, Wescoal will issue its provisional annual
financial statements and integrated report, incorporating the final annual financial statements and the
notice of annual general meeting, by no later than 31 August 2020 and 30 September 2020 respectively.

As advised by the JSE, the Company reiterates that market participants should not draw undue adverse
inferences as a result of Wescoal making use of the Extension Periods available to it.
