Operational update on COVID-19 and the impact on Brikor

Brikor supports the measures that the South African government has implemented to contain
the Covid-19 virus. The Group has taken robust steps over the past few weeks to keep all
stakeholders healthy, happy and safe.

Brikor received written request from a third party supplying Eskom Holdings SOC (‘Eskom”)
requesting that Brikor continues to supply coal to that third party supplier, who in turn blend
and supply Eskom directly. Ilangabi, Brikor’s wholly owned subsidiary and its critical suppliers
have been identified as key suppliers during the lockdown period. The Group has obtained all
the necessary approvals during this period to continue mining coal.

Brikor Disaster Management Group led by its CEO are in constant contact with all levels of
management including health and safety service providers as well as all logistic providers.

While the effects of the COVID-19 virus on our business are continually being reassessed, the
full impact of the 21-day nationwide lockdown announced on 23 March 2020 remains
unknown.

Shareholders will be kept up to date on the impact of COVID-19.
